The book sounds pretty interesting and engaging with all that intriguing and suspensful plot but I don't think this book is for as I'm not a big fan of books about mafia. Besides there are some scenes showing extreme violence which will definitely discourage me. Still I'm glad the reviewer liked the book and I'm sure there are a lot of people who will like this fast paced thriller. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I've always been a fan of this genre. So I'm sure I'll want to read this book as well. Seems like an interesting book, especially with the absence of white characters. I like that the author has given the backstory to many incidents without leaving the reader to his imagination.

The reviewer does a very good job of explaining the finer points of the book without revealing too much information. Though the violence and explicit crimes described by the reviewer don't discourage me in the slightest, hearing that the book is primarily based around blackmail does raise some concerns for me as that is not a topic that Garner's my interest. The reviewer did a fantastic job, however, and I'm sure his words will convince somebody to read this book. Just not me.

Great reveiw. Definitely made me want to grab up the book and finish it. I don't mind books with violence, though your warning makes me admittedly feel a bit apprehensive. But I am intrigued enough to want to give this book a go.

I am indecisive about whether I want to read this book or not. Though it sounds like it can be really good it also sounds like it could be just as dull. Therefore, I have not read anything that as really piqued my interest.

Even though I'm normally a fan of crime fiction, I don't like tales that include blackmail or the mafia/mob, so I'll be passing on this tale. Thanks for the review, though.

I have a difficult time reading books with a high volume of violence, so I will be passing on this one. But, it does sound like the author took great care in putting the storyline together. If he has written this as a sequel, then his fans are probably thrilled. Good job on this review. It gave me more insight into what the book is about.

I like the review and the different journeys that both men take in life after the Army. I know a lot about the mafia from National geographic programs, but to put this crime organization in a novel is great. I understand how switching time periods can become confusing in the overall pace of the story.

Blackmail, the mafia, the supreme court, sounds like a ride. I like reading about dastardly characters. Thanks for the great introduction to this book.

This novel looks like it has interesting written all over it. A judge with a past of crime life and his best friend a hit-man; then add the obligatory twists and turns: it's in for a ride! A nice review by the way. Congrats to Bill Sage on #BOTD

I’m not usually a crime fan, but the plot of this one sounds more interesting than most. I may check it out.

Interesting review. A good judge with a hunting past, former military man turned mafia. And so much more. I love a story with intrigues and this book is going to be a great read. Nice review too!
