Detective stories are my absolute favorite. And as the review says, the protagonist is unlike your typical detectives in crime thrillers, makes the book more compelling. I'm curious to read about him and his venture.

Thank you for your delightful review of "Parisian Detective Tales, a Trilogy" by Marcel Marquie.
This sleuth story has so many elements I enjoy in historical fiction -- post-WWII setting, Paris, people still trying to get their postwar lives going. Add to this an ordinary detective, who gets hired for a suspected infidelity case. And the story gets more complex....
I love the book cover -- evocative and atmospheric, Paris, postwar setting.
Congrats on BOTD.
Novel is on my To Read list!

I read the sample of the book titled Parisian Detective Tales: Two Sisters. I was intrigued while reading it, and disappointed when the sample ended.

The book seems well written and there’s an element of suspense that keeps the reader captivated. The embedding of the Parisian culture, French language and historical context are a wonderful combination.

I’m looking forward to purchasing this book to read the entire book.

Great review! I loved reading it! Toni sounds like a bungling detective that you can't help but like. He gets things done, but after several mishaps. I will definitely put this on my reading list. Thanks for the review!

I love it when crime cases unfold like an onion. Investigating an infidelity case only to find out more hidden details gripped my attention. Congratulations Parisian Detective Tales, a Trilogy by Marcel Marqui&eacute on BOTD.

I like noir detectives that have become classics of a genre and reading the review of this book helped me almost visualize the story like it was a movie. The way the plot, starting as a routine case of infidelity, begins to unravel and involves more and more angles is definitely appealing to my tastes!

Marcel Marquié's Parisian Detective Tales, a Trilogy: Part One: Two Sisters is an atmospheric novel that brings out a beautiful story that is a mix of deception, murder, and personal dilemmas. I really enjoyed reading this book, as there was never a dull moment. I also admired the character sketch of Toni, which is very much in contrast to those hardboiled American detectives. In this story, Toni is neither shown as brave nor tough, and this is exactly what makes him stand out and makes him refreshingly human. I'm looking forward to reading this book next and it is at a low price on Kindle Unlimited on Amazon. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

I particularly enjoyed your insights on Toni, the refreshingly human detective, and how the author truly brought post-war Paris to life. It sounds like a wonderfully atmospheric and engaging read. Thank you for your review.

I'm not a fan of historical fiction. But I like detective stories. And I like how the author portrays Toni's character. The setting in postwar Paris seems well described. It looks like this one is worth a try. Thank you for the helpful review.

'Official Review: Parisian Detective Tales, a Trilogy: Part One: Two Sisters' by Marcel Marquie has an exciting and enriching introduction. It sheds light on the protagonist's character. A detective named Toni takes on an infidelity case and begins to work on it. Toni is neither brave nor tough, but refreshingly human. The story is a mix of deception, murder, and personal dilemmas. The author brought Paris alive on paper!

This is the first installment of the trilogy of Parisian detective stories, where many dilemmas such as deception, death and love are intertwined, and it is there where detective Toni must unravel the mysteries behind each of them, although in this story he will find deeper and more delicate themes that lead him to find serious deceptions.

This review paints a vivid picture of Parisian Detective Tales as a richly atmospheric noir with a deeply human protagonist. The emotional depth, Parisian backdrop, and slow-burn mystery make it compelling. The reviewer’s admiration for Toni’s vulnerability and the elegant writing highlights the novel’s unique charm and immersive storytelling.
