Thank you for the comprehensive review! It does seem like a really interesting read, but the author seems to have overdone it with the British/Scottish references which probably distances the reader from the book. Like you mentioned, I certainly hope that it goes through a proper editing for it to display its potential.

I really enjoyed this comment from your review: I ended up flicking back to check if maybe the book was set in the 1970s.

I've had a few of those too!

The story is reality-based. I like its plot but due to flaws you mentioned above, I think I should not select it to read. Thanks for your thorough review.

How interesting that the second part of the book would be better than the beginning. Usually it's the other way around. I suspect that this book would not be greatly interesting to me. But out of curiosity, is this a book that American readers would be able to follow along with, or is knowledge of British political parties a prerequisite for understanding the plot?

Hi, thanks for posting. It’s not really about politics, the fact that she joins an undesirable party is explained. Also, when she discusses being an MP, Guy Forsythe explains how the House of Commons works, but to be honest, it wasn’t really necessary. We don’t follow her career, we follow his. So I would have thought Americans would be able to follow it. Probably better than other books, because as I said, he seemed to be aiming at the American market, so was explaining more than a British book usually would.

Sex on legs. Lol. Wow. The title sounds great. It's disappointing about the first half of the book but I'm glad the second half makes up for it. Thanks for the review!
