This review makes the book sound really interesting. I like that the detective, Toni, is not shown as the usual strong or fearless type, but more human and emotional. The setting in post-war Paris also seems well described, and the mix of mystery, personal struggles, and relationships adds depth. It’s good to hear the writing and editing are strong too, and I’m interested in seeing how the story unfolds, especially with the secrets and the sisters.

Congrats on BOTD.
Marcel Marqui's "Parisian Detective Tales, a Trilogy" is a crime mystery that involves deceit, conflict, and homicide. It will be fascinating to see how the private investigator in this narrative managed to live and continue his career.

I am a great fan of historical books and the fact that this one contains some post-war settings makes it even more exciting and thrilling. I am also happy that the book is so exceptional that it warranted a perfect rating. I have just read the short sample on Amazon and I have enjoyed the author's writing style, including how observant Toni is. Many thanks for the brilliant review, @Jaituni Sanghavi.

Reading the preview had me hooked on this book. I like detective stories and this one especially has humanly characters as the main character (detective) has quite the relatable character moments like how he wanted to stay fit so he joined Judo but he hates pain so he gave up. And now he is regretting it

Digging for the truth about a case of suspected infidelity leads to some deeper mysteries. The detective, Toni, is portrayed in a way that feels real and relatable, yet interesting. Overall, sounds like an interesting read. Thank you for your detailed review.

This book follows a flawed Parisian detective unraveling a case of infidelity that spirals into deeper secrets and personal struggles. With its emotional depth and post-war noir setting, I feel it’s truly going to be an interesting read. Congrats BOTD!

When the reviewer started mentioning a cynical detective, I was already sold. This book is for me, the setting of murder and nostalgia and crime. I wonder what the confrontation with the sisters is about - look forward to reading the book and finding out.

This review is excellent. It describes the book so well. I read the sample and was immediately engrossed in the story. I really liked the writing style, and the humour was understated but very funny. The character of Toni was well-drawn. The story was intriguing, and I will buy the book to find out what happens. I also love the cover, it's very appealing.

Im normally not one to read post war novels, but this one definitely sounded interesting. A should be normal case that turns out to have hidden depths, along with mysteries, deception and murder? I guess I now have a new novel to put into interested in reading. Thanks for the awesome review.

Thank you for the review. I read the sample. Toni is a lovable detective. He is hired by a brute of a man who is a butcher of horses (shudder!). He wants Toni to spy on his young wife. I was thinking the lady is in a fix, she did not want her husband to know. I was hoping that Toni would not spill the beans.
