Ben Schneider takes us through a thrilling adventure that involves bike gangs, crime, science and technology and a touch of religion, in his book Chrome Mountain. One of the main characters, Sonya, has been rebellious in most of her teen life. She fled her home where she lived with her grandma. Her mother died of cancer and her dad was not responsible although he inspired her love for bikes. She ends up dating the leader of the most feared and dangerous bike gang, Screamon Demons to prove to her grandma she knows what she is doing, which she regrets later when she comes to her senses.
Trey is a nerdy scientist who has invented a cloaking device that renders anything attached to it invisible. He is in dilemma on if to keep it and become rich while he makes scientific history, or destroy it in fear that it may fall into the wrong hands. Ben Schneider brings out believe in superstition when Trey is haunted by nightmares which his device costs him his family and he later decides to destroy it.
I find Sonya’s transition from being a rebellious criminal to strong believer in God not well layed out. The salvation journey is expected to be a difficult one especially for a criminal. He doesn’t explain at all how she came to know God. Although he clearly states that she left the Screamon Demons when she was abused by the leader and their activities had gone from bad to worse.
I like how Ben creates suspense as the reader wonders how former bike gang member and a nerdy scientist will come to get along later. The flow of events are thrilling and packed with adventure as Sonya saves Trey from his first experience with the Chrome Falcon, a criminal gang that uses high level technology to stay invisible from the outside world

I would recommend this book for futuristic technology and action lovers. Chrome mountain is packed with action as Sonya and Trey struggle to hide from the government, who think they are members of the Chrome falcon and also as they try to stay safe from the Chrome Falcon, who want to Trey to work for them. I love the timely flow of events as an FBI agent comes is ready to listen to Trey and Sonya, after they escape from the Chrome Falcon and set up a temporary home in a hotel in Dallas. Again there is lots of action as Chrome Falcon discover the duo’s location. Thee duo have to fight their way so as to meet the FBI agent, who becomes their savior.
I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars. This is because there is to much violence and use of inappropriate words, such as ‘whore’, which is not recommend for young readers. I also don’t like the scene at the supermarket with the fat lady sleeping as she is shopping. I find it insulting to obese people and he also makes it look like Trey and Sonya are too perfect, where in real sense there are no perfect human. The grammar is perfect with no errors.
