Rynah thought the stories her grandfather told her were just fairytales. She never imagined they would come true. Until her fiancé, Klanor, stole the crystal that held her planet, Lanyr, together. Narrowly escaping the destruction of her home planet. She escapes on a ship, named Solaris, her grandfather left behind. She soon discovers Solaris is not just a ship but she has a mind of her own. Rynah and Solaris work together to gather the team the prophesies in her grandfathers stories speak of. The team of four humans from Earth are the ones destined to stop Klanor and his followers. Will they succeed?

I had such high hopes for this book. The description was so promising. That being said I was very disappointed after the initial story line laid out this book got boring. I felt very disconnected from the worlds they were in. There wasn’t enough details of the places or people in these places. Also the action happened so fast you had no time to feel you knew anything about these places.

I did not like Rynah. I felt like she was a whiny spoiled child the whole book. Taking tragedy to show she had a heart. She was a bully to poor Brie the whole book. And gave no thought to how they had no choice in being ripped from their lives. It was like she thought they owed her.

Although I liked the other characters, a Viking and a scribe, never having seen technology, unrealistically just went with it? That’s really hard to believe and I feel the author could have used their confusion to add spice to their story. I feel like Brie was perfect and spot on for how she should act for her age and the situation.

I’d like to add how similar this story is to “Avengers Infinity War” minus all the super heroes. Racing to beat Thanos/Klanor to the six infinity stones/Crystal’s. Obviously they go in different directions but I even found similarities in the characters. As an example I thought Alfric was a mix of Thor and Black Panther.

To wrap it up, I found this story very drug out and boring. It took me the whole month to read it was so hard to get into. Great idea but it didn’t work out. I give the book Solaris Seethes by Janet McNulty 2 out of 4 stars I would not recommend this book to anyone if they are looking for a good book.
