Kristoff's Reign by Angela Modra is an enchanting tale about a magical deer, Kristoff. The story starts with a sudden accident between magical creatures. Fast-forward 50 years; the story focuses on a young deer, Kristoff, whose life suddenly changes drastically when a group of hunters attacks their nesting grounds, and he is separated from his mother and uncle. Luckily, he escapes the hunters and meets a young boy, Tristan, and his grandfather. They save Kristoff's life and give him shelter on their farm.

Time passes, and Kristoff and Tristan become best buddies. As Kristoff grows, he comes to know that he is not a common deer, and he has many supernatural powers. And these powers become a problem for Kristoff and Tristan's family. Now, will Kristoff stay with Tristan, or will he be able to find his family, that is, his mother, uncle, and their herd? And will he ever know who he is and how he got his supernatural powers?

Kristoff's tale is an original, enchanting, and magical tale aimed at a younger audience. I really like the fairytale-like atmosphere of the story and the unique magical creatures in the narrative. The author's writing style is concise, refreshing, and entertaining as well as easy to understand. The story advances at a faster pace but doesn't compromise on the plot.

Another aspect of the book that I admired was the characterization of the narrative. Kristoff is the main character, and the story advances from his point of view. His character is explained in detail in the story. However, I was not able to relate the title of the story to the main plot. So, after reading the full story, I found it a little disappointing. Otherwise, it is a nice, wholesome narrative aimed at a younger audience.

So, for all the above-mentioned reasons, I rate the book 4 out of 5. I didn't find any major faults with the book. It is an entertaining tale with an original plot and unique magical creatures. I didn't find any errors and a few instances of minor or borderline profanity. As expected from a book for young readers, it doesn't have any instances of erotic/sexual content.
