Storm Front Over Atlantis by E.W. Roberts was a very good novel. I do recommend this novel for young adults and up, especially if someone is interested in a new story that relates to the old gods of Greece.

E.W. Roberts creates a fascinating character in Victoria “Vic” Hartley, the leading female character. Her backstory, and the moments where she is the main point of view, really makes her feel like a real person, allowing the reader to connect with her. Her progress through the story does feel genuine, like this is how it might have gone if this story was taking place in the real world. Vic is a very in-depth character and honestly does not feel like her story was rushed through.

The story does feel fresh, as while the story does mention of the Greek gods, it does not focus wholly on that part and instead fixes its attention on what is happening to the people around Vic. The way the characters all act, both in ignorance of the larger story and, in some cases with the knowledge they have beyond the story fit almost seamlessly around and with Vic.

I give this story a four out of five stars, however, because there are several scenes in here that some readers may not like. The speech as well feels very formal, as this does take place in a Southern state and should definitely have more contractions in the speech of the characters. Despite taking place in a Southern state, there doesn’t seem to be much evidence of it aside from the author informing the reader that it was taking place in such a state.

Storm Front Over Atlantis was still a very good book to read. The protagonist isn’t a forgettable character, the antagonist is certainly memorable, and the plotline of this story definitely sets up a sequel. Readers who loved this novel will likely be itching to read the next book of the Olympic Legacy series!
