Humanity faces its desperate fight for survival when Jean Hackensmith joins Joseph McDowell to write the science fiction novel Exodus. Those who enjoy reading both apocalyptic fiction and science fiction thrillers will find the work written by McDowell and Hackensmith both fascinating and entertaining.
Earth discovers itself in harm's way as a neutron star approaches leading to the destruction of the planet. Governments unite when time becomes scarce to create the Exodus project as their final solution. Their plan? Scientists must create antimatter propulsion technology to launch specific humans into space for a search toward establishing a new planetary settlement.

Garrett Long serves as the mission's central figure because he must finalize the propulsion design that his deceased father invented. The imminent neutron star collision creates severe destruction across Earth's surface by causing earthquakes and multiple disasters including tsunami waves and radiological tempests which make the mission journey increasingly risky. The developing turmoil creates ethical predicaments about who will receive the survival slots and what sacrifices people must make.
Human spirit and ethical complications and sacrifices stand as the most impactful components in Exodus. The authors of Exodus create a tale that pushes readers toward deeper contemplation regarding the fundamental meaning of saving mankind from extinction. Which individuals would receive one of the final seats available on the Earth escape spacecraft? Do you consider life ever-ending to survive when you need to abandon your close connections?

Immersion in the author's writing arises from his expansive narrative descriptions that outline physical situations and emotional experiences. Pacing remains high throughout the narrative while showing deep character introspection that makes them genuine. The technical information about antimatter propulsion along with space travel elements improves the story's factual nature while maintaining credibility.Throughout the story Garrett Long showcases his ability to carry mission responsibilities and his experience with personal loss. People can easily support Garrett because he demonstrates determination alongside his mental battles and commendable intellect. Every character part of the supporting cast receives detailed development that adds distinct emotional complexity and unique lens to the plot. Every persona in the novel contributes to its complexity because they range from scientists in high-speed struggles to politicians fighting through difficult political decisions.
The book Exodus provides both suspenseful adventure sequences and serious philosophical examinations within its science fiction narrative. The novel provides an excellent reading experience for those who favor apocalyptic tales featuring realistic human characters. The authors Jean Hackensmith and Joseph McDowell tell a survival tale that portrays human choices during times of crisis and beyond.

Any space thriller fan who adores The Martian and Interstellar should make Exodus a top priority.
