Aliens moved into the primitive Earth and are the progeny of technology.Treretumians watched from the spacecraft the slow developing rate of the Earthlings since the invasion by the Ancient one. Presence of research organization such as CDC,NASA and DHS that work in close association with the government. Most of the citizens are not told the truth and it results into most addressing the symptoms and outcomes other than the cause of the symptoms.
Arturo Riojas in Heaven and Earth endeavors in correlating a story-line of scientific research, Olga and Gavilan among others in different departments to the contamination of the environment by the heavy Cadmium metal. The book being a science fiction shows a speculative and futuristic cause of increased level of cancer and ingestion of the heavy metal in almost all meals. It has well researched and detailed information that correlates its story to the current environmental contamination and poor health rates.
The author being an Environmental engineer inscribe clearly in every chapter the effects caused by ingesting the heavy metal, that caused death to his mother. Moving in of the aliens to Earth and enlightening them enhanced several researches on technology improvement.Olga shows different research conferences being held at NASA in collaboration with other organizations. Every named character either primary or secondary plays a role to develop the imaginative concept. The stories within the play are necessary and add greatly to the book's plot by giving humor.
The cover Heaven and Earth is a well brought out plot by the invasion of aliens who are racing against time and trying to overcome extinction from Muimdac race while Earthlings are trying to reverse their environment exposing it for death. The aliens explores the vast space in a speed of light in search of information which is passed to Olga and friends resulting into conflict between the universal good and self-interest over ruled by fear. Author takes no limits in informing of the poisonous heavy metal.
The book was informative and a great read full of new discoveries all through the scope. It was a bit difficult to predict how it would end as information and events would switch the last minute. The story is placed in reported tense but has phrases of first person conversation hence brings out humor and hilarious feeling throughout the plot. The write-up has several chapters that at times have been separated by extra break lines hence terminating the events abruptly. This makes the compressed feel and smooth transition between entries at times fail to flow.
I rate the book 3 out of 4 stars due to frequent language change in conversation the made the reader wonder out of concept and the extra line break at times disrupted the flow with abrupt entries of events. I gladly recommend the book to individuals in political field, health sector and strong Science-fiction lovers. The book thou is no fun for children or reading as you wait at the bus station.
