This book, “We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies” by Matthew Tysz, is the first book in its series and stands out as an interesting read on its own. It is a nice and engaging read full of mysteries, adventures, and action.

Galen Bray is a young man fleeing from his warring homeland, The Lands of the Princes. He is fleeing for a peaceful life in Voulhire. He boards a boat with many other people who are going to different locations. When he arrives at Magnum Caelum, his great uncle is already dead, and he has to inherit everything the man has left for him, being the reason Galen was granted citizenship. The gift that the Emperor of Lullabies granted his sons was the four islands that constitute The Land of the Princes. The war unleashed by the sons against each other was connected to Galen Bray’s runaway to Voulhire. Read to find out how he escaped his war-torn homeland and his encounters upon arriving in Voulhire. You will also get to know other characters, like Lord Eldus, who is exposing the secrets of the enigmatic mage Meldorath, and King Wilhelm, the king of Voulhire, along with other amazing characters.

I appreciate how the author brought the Kingdom of Voulhire to life, ranging from its natural surroundings to the landscape. That was so real. The book seems to have both medieval and Victorian characteristics in its setting. The character of Galen Bray was also amazing. A vibrant young man who wants to succeed. The character development was impressive, with different characters performing their roles perfectly. I commend the author for the effort put into crafting this book.

I didn’t find anything to dislike or criticize about this wonderful book. I am giving it 5 out of 5 stars because of its perfect editing, setting, and character development. I could not spot any spelling or grammatical errors while reading. I highly and confidently recommend it to fans of fantasy and adventure.
