She was his hope, his salvation, his love, his everything. Now that she is gone, he is nothing but a lost man. How will he go on living when she was his guide in life? After the deaths of his wife Lily and his stillborn daughter, King Christopher finds himself lost, believing that he will not be able to rule his kingdom alone. Yet when unruly civilians storm and take over the castle and a mysterious disease has the Linden wood; disintegrating into ash, the King has no choice but to flee and seek help from the healer he blames for Queen Lily's death. The Keeper of Linden Woods is dying, and the king, the healer, his guardsman, and the healer's son must undergo a long and hard journey to find her heart in order to restore the magic in the Linden Woods and save the kingdom from disaster. Will they succeed in their endeavors, or will they fail and doom the entire kingdom? Follow them on their journey to find out what becomes of them.

In the Heart of the Linden Wood, written by Ekta R. Garg, is the phenomenal adventure of a broken-hearted king. It revolves around magic and how sorrow can cloud judgment. The book begins with the backstory of King Christopher and the unjust way his father ruled his people. It thereafter focuses on Queen Lily and how an alliance between two kingdoms was the best choice that King Christopher could make after the mysterious assassination of his father. The book delivers a powerful message: sometimes death does not necessarily mean the end of something; it could also mean the start of something new.

I think that In the Heart of the Linden Wood is a beautiful story. It has so many different elements to it that the reader cannot help but be captivated. The elements of pain, sorrow, love, despair, and hope take the reader on a roller coaster of emotions.

There was nothing to dislike about the book. It was well edited, which showed professionalism in the author's writing; hence, I rate the book a 5 out of 5.

I strongly recommend this book to both young and old readers. It does not contain any vulgarity or profanity; however, it does contain a bit of fighting in it but nothing too extreme. The story of a broken king will have you wanting to finish it in one go.
