Lily and her brother, Liam, couldn't remember a year from their childhood, which bothers Lily a lot, and although Liam suspects something terrible must have happened, he would rather leave it be and move on, which he had, but Lily couldn't. She was moving through the days in monotony, terribly lonely, and wishing desperately for a change.

Taking a trip back in time, we see...

A young Lily, headstrong, manipulative, but so terribly lonely and devastated by her father's sudden death after his unexpected return from an extended trip, craves freedom and escape from the confines of all the rules of being a proper young lady.

Liam, trustworthy, timid, and always obedient, was often protected but smarter than he let on.

Jasper, a young prince from another world, would do anything for a glimpse of affection from his mother, an abusive and cruel woman, even luring unsuspecting children from earth with captivating stories of fairies and magic without having an idea why he was given such a mission.

Lily and Jasper were two very lonely people who found solace, friendship, and love in each other's company.

But refusing to lure Lily and her brother, Liam, to his mother, Jasper had not comprehended how dire the consequences of his disobedience would be.

This is a very captivating story; the attraction between Lily and Jasper was palpable and so innocent. It was a bittersweet love story, and I was positively hooked.
I was such a watering pot throughout; I simply couldn't stop the tears from sliding down my cheeks. I felt each character's pain like it was mine.

But I would like to suggest that the author be more specific as to the age of the characters from the beginning. For instance, I had a hard time giving Lily and Jasper a figure in my head because I couldn't positively figure out what age they were supposed to be.

All in all, the scenery, the plot, and the uniqueness of the characters made this book a masterpiece, and I rate it 5 stars.

So if you are a fan of fantasy, sci-fi, or the paranormal, you don't want to miss out on this.
