Exodus is a sci-fi novel coauthored by Jean Hackensmith and Joseph McDowell. It is an irresistible science fiction masterpiece from the beginning to the end. The story takes place as people are heading towards an extinction event, and it tells a captivating tale that perfectly blends scientific curiosity with emotions and ethical aspects. The narrative revolves around the Long family, mainly Garrett Long, who struggle to save part of humanity through building highly advanced space-faring technology before Earth is destroyed by a rogue neutron star in no time.

The novel’s greatest virtue lies in the merging of hard science fiction with profound human experiences. Fans of scientifically grounded novels will appreciate the realness contributed by a detailed account of how an antimatter-driven warp drive could be made. This drives readers down to a level of emotional vulnerability where they can connect with characters – Garrett's journey from being a son mourning his father into someone willing to take up responsibility for saving humans.

The questions raised in this book are haunting, as well as asking some serious moral questions about whether we should leave billions behind or not. Thus, there is some political dimension added inside this crisis management that the President, Rebecca McCann, puts pressure on herself when decides to declare martial law. Thus, Exodus is more than just another science fiction adventure; it is also meant to make us rethink survival, sacrifice, and leadership.

A climax that decides between life and death for all those travelling on Exodus gives n anxiety-filled moment full of suspense, which amply demonstrates what was at stake. As such, it leaves room for thought after the last page has been turned.

In my opinion, rating of the book is 5 out of 5 stars.

To sum up, I would read such books again, such as this one, because it was good. It had everything, including great punctuation marks plus grammar, hence flawless language use. You had better buy yourself this book and read it because it is really worth your time! I did not like only its length, but everything else about this book was fine!
