Are you a fan of science fiction books? What about books that explore themes of economics, social justice, and technology? Creative Destruction by Alastair Bowman embodies all these themes I mentioned. The story follows the journey of a man named Mark who crashed his plane in a small rural area in Newell. Mark was rescued by some community members in this rural area, and he settled quickly into the community. As time passed, Mark's presence bred curiosity among the community members. They started suspecting what truly caused the crash of Mark's plane. This suspicion grew tremendously when Mark proposed to the community members a deal in exchange for their gold. This was the turning point of Mark's relationship with the community members as they began to suspect Mark's true motive behind this deal.
 
From the jump, I enjoyed the book's pacing as it matched the book's narrative. There was no mismatch at all. I enjoyed how well the author slowly developed the characters in this book. The author did a marvellous job of providing backstories to every character so that readers won't get confused, as every character in this book had a particular role to play in the entire plot. This in turn adds depth and realism to the story. I want to also highlight how exceptionally well this book was edited, as I found no grammatical errors of any sort. This is a good display of the author's undeniable commitment to ensuring that readers have a unique reading experience.
 
Overall, I give this book a rating of four out of five stars for the many reasons I have stated prior. The reason this book did not get a perfect rating is that the plot was not that engaging or interesting to me personally; this made it difficult for me to connect with this book. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading science fiction books.
