Review of A Kingdom Forgotten
In the book "A Kingdom Forgotten" by Charles W. McDonald Jr., Radin lives a regular life in Perion until he stumbles upon an amulet. This he gifts to Elise, who feels it wields some hidden secrets. In a bid to discover its potential, together, they come across Damon’s abode in Kaleion. Damon, a prominent character in the book, has a hidden agenda that could forever affect many societies.
This legendary story combines intriguing components involving magic, periods of war, magical elements, powerful kings, and so on. I highly commend the author’s creativity at conjuring a cutting-edge world of magic, a platform where magic and technology intertwine. I enjoyed reading the book as events gradually unraveled. The consistent pacing is also a positive aspect I have no choice but to comment on. The author created a thorough and comprehensive writing style that keeps the readers engaged until the end.
Another aspect I love about this book is its character development. The author made them easily relatable by assigning challenges and goals to their roles. The interactivity between these characters is also a factor that helps set the plot in motion. As the plot unfolds, readers get to see a transformation in Radin's personality as he goes on a journey to self-realisation. The integration of romance in the book helped create a balance in its plot and suspense.
There are no negatives to state in this book. The editing is perfect, and I found zero errors while reading. I enjoyed the plot’s uniqueness and intricacy, although some readers may find juggling through numerous characters a hassle. However, this isn’t an issue to me, as it didn’t prevent me from enjoying the storyline. Consequently, I rate it a solid 5 out of 5 stars.
I recommend it to readers that love books on magic, fantasy, sci-fi, and romance. Again, it is most suitable for a mature audience, as it contains some profanity.
