Review of Darksoul
“Darksoul” is an engaging book written by L. Brooks about Orion and Sam, the co-owners of Club Iniquity. It starts with a violent attack that results in both men being shot; consequently, Orion is persuaded by an old man to enter into a pact with a dark spirit referred to as Darksoul so as to save his own life. The bargain revives Orion but leaves Sam dead, making him go after their attackers. Concurrently, Soulchaser appears—an ancient enemy of Darksoul whose mission is conquering the world by absorbing souls that would augment his power.
The book is packed with action and suspense; it’s described in such detail that it feels like watching an action movie. The unexpected turns of events include Sam’s death and Orion becoming Darksoul himself, which will keep readers interested. Thus, Orion does not only seek revenge, but he also needs to accept his new identity and powers. His confrontation against Soulchaser as well as other foes represents a fierce struggle for soul dominance within him.
Orion is my favorite character in this book. He turns from being just a club owner into some sort of supernatural avenging personality, which makes one of the most interesting changes arcs ever seen on paper or film. All through the story, there is this internal conflict between Orion's humanity versus the abilities conferred upon him by Darksoul; his constant desire for justice over Sam’s death caused by powerful entities like Soulchaser creates all these captivating plots here simultaneously at stake are his resilience, determination, and growing capabilities together with inner conflicts faced by him.
There isn’t anything I don’t like about this book because it’s perfectly edited thanks to the editor.
I give this book five out of five stars because its plot was exciting and unpredictable throughout; it created a vivid imaginative world together with well-rounded characters, especially Orion.
I would highly recommend this book to those who love supernatural thrillers and dark fantasy. This book will hold you captive if you enjoy action-packed stories. It has unpredictable turns of events.
