A Kingdom Forgotten by Charles W. McDonald Jr. is a masterpiece that combines magic, fantasy, science, mystery, and adventure all in one. At the core of this story, we have a forgotten kingdom, shadowed by the dangerous ambition and Master Plan of Damon, the not-so-evil villain in this book. The truth is that this book is a complete experience by itself as it transports the reader to an incredible world where ancient magic and revolutionary technology co-exist, making this a fantasy, a science fiction, a mystery, and so many more genres all in just one single book.

Damon and Radin are our two main characters, and each one of them represents, in my opinion, a different aspect of humankind. As I explained, Damon, our "villain," faces numerous challenges in his journey, representing courage, ambition, and perseverance. However, at the same time, I can see signs of extreme darkness in his actions and a little light at the end of the tunnel due to some of his selfless behaviors. The contrast in his demeanor makes him a mysterious and unpredictable character, which I love.

On the other hand, Radin represents hope, curiosity, and growth as he slowly becomes aware of his powers and abilities and gains the strength he needs to fulfill his mission. These two characters, so extremely different from each other, create a sense of familiarity within the readers and let us emerge from their chaotic scenario as we go along.

With that being said, I don’t think I can point out a single downside to this book. The writing style is remarkable, as Charles W. McDonald Jr. took his time creating a thorough and detailed world and didn’t forget to insert the same passion into the character development. I found myself intrigued not only with the plot but also with Damon’s character. After all, not everyone is one hundred percent evil or one hundred percent kind, and to see this theory with such clarity in Damon’s personality caught my attention.

Of course, I can only attribute 5 out of 5 stars to this book, as it transported me to another world while reading it, turning this experience into an immersive one. I also didn’t find any errors, which leads me to state that the editing job is on a very high level.

Regarding a possible recommendation, I do believe this book has a bit of everything for every taste in literature; however, it is quite obvious that those who like to be immersed in fantasy books will enjoy this read a lot more and, perhaps, find in this book the beginning of their new favorite series.
