We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies; As the name goes; my expectations for the book were also sky high, and it did justice to them. The First few pages of the prologue, and there I am, hooked to the story. The first chapter introduced me to the golden words: “See the good in everything, and the best of it will find you”. A great start to a tale of acceptance and hope in the wilderness of dreams coated kingdom of voulhire. A story of a refugee, Galen, in a new land, who recently found himself with inheritance, in the kingdom of voulhire, filled with expectations, boards a ship to go and discovers the life it has ahead of him. The element of magic is cherry on cake. The storyline keeps you on toes, with the coexistence of peace and vengeance, personal greed and rivalry. The characters look simple at first, but as I read through the book, the layers and potential of development they depict, made me wonder, if anything is as simple as it seems. It kept me engaged with the book, and to the imaginative world of fiction. The detailed description of the cities make them alive, and as the “Old one” describes them, they become the fantasy of everyone on the ship. The king Wilhelm arcolo; in his golden period of ruling, the Mianoran knight, the refugee (Galen) and the magician or as they call it, the wizard, and the rebels, living since forever!!!! It is a whole package. The thorough map of the land, different narratives, fantasy filled with adventure and thought provoking storyline, got me hooked. And the best part, it's written as if a movie or a play is rolling out, i mean, i could actually imagine it all in my head, with the characters delivering the lines. Set in the times of the kingdom, so gets the dream of mediaeval going, with the background music of luminary. I could not put it down. If you are going into it, with the mood of an action filled adventure story , this book will be a slow burn for you. So if you are a fast paced reader, you might want to think about it first, because once you are in , you will want to read all of them. I like the pace of the book so I Loved reading it!, Definitely recommend. Can't wait to read more of this series.
