A chance meeting with a princess, driven by the desire to uncover the meaning behind an unwanted war, thrusts Delvin into an intricate quest for answers. Together, they embark on an extensive adventure, all while trying to elude the ever-watchful Guild of Magic. The narrative builds with secrets unraveling, leading to an unexpected and gripping climax.

The characters in the novel are not just well-developed but also intriguing, with Jarla standing out as a particular favorite. Her portrayal as an intelligent, courageous, and fiercely independent character challenges initial assumptions, contributing to the overall richness of the story. Each character is presented uniquely, enhancing the fantasy and intrigue woven throughout the narrative. Noteworthy is the realistic portrayal of a feudal society marked by class divisions, adding depth to the storytelling. I didn't find anything to dislike about the book.
