Clark and her university friends find themselves on a surprising adventure when Rob's crazy experiment goes wrong and sends them across time and space. Though for the newly made vampire Clark, time travel isn’t even the weirdest thing to happen to her that day.  Space battles, learning to sword fight and trying not to get staked are all now on Clark's to-do list. While her friends try and figure out how to get home. Clark explores the newly discovered world, which she can't help but find appealing. All this and more in Shadow Eclipse Voyage.

I like the premise of vampires and orks in space. Sifi and Fantasy are some of my favourite genres and seeing how the author tried to combine them was interesting. It made the world-building enjoyable, I wish it had been explored more. E. M. Gale is also very good at writing sword-fighting scenes, I really wish there were more Vampire duels in the book.

Unfortunately, the book is difficult to finish. It has a large cast and too many side characters, this combined with the crazy number of plot points that seem to go nowhere, only makes the book more unreadable. I also found that the ending was abrupt not finishing Clark's story at all. The book really felt like it was setting up for an interesting reveal, but this never materialises, instead, we find another plot point that seems unimportant being resolved. This made the ending disappointing and shallow to me. Clark is a free woman she has sex with anyone she wants. This would be just a character trait but her friends judge her for it. There is a lot of conversation about how her sexual liberation is a bad thing, which seems out of character for University students.

This book has no spelling mistakes that I found but a good editor would probably help bring out the good parts of the story and cut out the unnecessary bits. Due to this and how the story under-delivered on its premise, I can only give this book a 1 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to aspiring authors. You may find it interesting to read and analyze how you would change it. Not knowing the author's other work I am unsure if I can recommend it to their fans. Over all this book in its current state is a skip for me.
