This book was. . . well in all honesty, slow and confusing. The author constantly switched perspectives, sometimes what felt like in the middle of sentences, and the amount of "but-what-they-didn't-know"s took what little suspense there might have been right out of the story. This story felt like it was an attempt at a cozy mystery with a earthy, maybe witchy type theme, but without an antagonist there were no stakes and it petered out very quickly. There was a lot of "Aha!" moments where all the characters realized exactly what needed doing for no reason, and the main character underwent a transformation of character and confidence based solely on a European vacation that her fairy godmother by way of eccentric old lady bestowed upon her. And in the end, nothing happened. I don't know if the author means for there to be a sequel to this book, but I kind of hope so, because if there isn't then the only plot this book had was a very convoluted way to starting some kind of eco-doomsday-cult with no rhyme or reason.
