Review of The Great awakening
The Great Awakening is a novella by Arthur Seymour that shows how humans and robots can coexist. The story occurs during a pandemic; humans, robots, and animals protect people from the coma virus. Ruby and Seymour are a married couple with three kids - Stacey, Andy, and Joey - and Robyn, Max, Min, and Feeniks, their robots. They all work together to find the vaccine for the deadly virus. The Great Awakening is a sequel to the book Earth Won - the author includes a detailed summary in the novel.
The book shows events of a similar experience that the world went through during the Covid19 pandemic in 2019 - 2020. The fact that the author wrote the book before the pandemic was baffling. One may wonder how different the world would have undergone the pandemic if the technology was more advanced: If robots were around to help us combat the virus. The experience would have been more manageable, that’s for sure.
The Great Awakening is an interactive novel that encourages active reading. The author has made it possible for the readers to tweak the story to how they liked it by using QR codes. The experience was new for me, and I enjoyed it very much. Seymour has incorporated technology in his own Sci-fi novella in an intriguing and fun way for his readers. The author has also added poems to his novel, which was helpful to boost the fiction of the story.
My only problem with the book is that it is brief. Although the novel is short, Seymour has presented a swift, dynamic narrative with fully developed characters and a remarkably intricate plot, all within a concise span of fewer than one hundred pages. The readers create a mental image of all the happening in the book because the author has explained the occurrences of the novella in great detail.
I rate the book a perfect 5 out of 5 stars since it was professionally edited and had no errors. The book was futuristic and relatable to an extent. The presence of pictures and poems is another reason for my high ratings.
I recommend the book for everyone to read, especially the youth. Lovers of science, technology, and fantasy will also enjoy the novel.
