When I was younger, I learned that the moon is dark, and the brightness we see is only the reflection of the sun’s light. I did say that the sun brightens up the moon. Recall Newton’s law of motion, which states that a body will remain stationary unless acted upon by force. Ron is the body in darkness illuminated by the light, Regina Russo. Follow me.

Ron was an orphan who moved to several foster homes during his childhood. The experience affected him psychologically; he lost many memories of his childhood. Instead, he made pocket money from side bets as a skilled chess player and teenager. Regina Russo, a young physics professor, meets him in the game of chess, and after two plays, she seems to switch on a dormant light. Although Ron has refused to acknowledge the light for many years, he has no choice as Regina finds her way back into his life like a redeeming angel. How did she do this? Read Timewise by Robert Leet for fascinating discoveries.

This 31-chapter book reminded me of secondary school physics and nuclear chemistry. Regina seemed like my secondary school chemistry teacher. The author’s descriptive writing style was adorable; describing Regina’s way of teaching made me feel like I was learning from her in a classroom. I also liked how the author explored Ron’s lifestyle of addiction to poker games, giving consequences for the controversial topic.

Various interesting science topics discussed in this book include string theory, the concept of force and time, the uncertainty principle, wave-particle duality, and others. It was interesting tangling the physical sciences (physics, chemistry, and mathematics). The inclusion of biological science (botany) also spiced up the story. Aside from science, it was refreshing to explore Ron’s love life. From having a crush on Regina at fourteen to his relationship with Cheryl to seeing Regina as more than a mentor and friend and getting jealous of Paul around, it was interesting to read. The book was also exceptionally well-edited; I found no errors while reading.

However, this book was excessively slow-paced and unnecessarily lengthy. As a science student, I found Regina’s lectures overwhelming and tiring. I wonder how unfamiliar readers would feel while reading. I think the author should have made the science aspect of the book more relatable for everyone. For these reasons, I will rate Timewise four out of five stars. This book will appeal to science enthusiasts. I recommend it to mature readers because of its profanity and sexual content.

The first paragraph of your review, and the rest of it, of course, was nothing short of stunning. The book's plot seems wonderful. Thanks for the insightful review.
