Fred G. Baker’s novel, Zona: The Forbidden Land, is an adventurous and fictional book that tells the story of Grant Taylor, a university professor from Elmhurst near Chicago, and his escapade to Zona, an unknown land.

The book opens with maps showing the road to Zona as well as the layout of the camp they inhabit and the surroundings of Zona. Grant receives the disheartening news that his uncle, Randall, is missing from his last expedition and therefore declared dead. He, however, doubts this information as he reads through some of his uncle’s journals and gets some secret letters. He sets out to look for his uncle and discover this land alongside a group of people, which includes a commander, security team guards, scientific staff, and shuttle drivers. Will they regret embarking on this journey? Will Grant find his uncle? Can Grant trust this group of people? What will they discover in Zona? Will Grant come back alive, or will he meet his demise? Read this book to find out.

It is an adventurous and action-packed book by Fred G. Baker called Zona: The Forbidden Land. I found it difficult to put it down once I started reading; this book truly had me on the edge. The author did an excellent job describing Zona, which made me crave going on this beautiful adventure. The discovery of different breeds of animals, new plants that can be used as food, scents, healing agents, and so many more things was very fascinating for me. This book made me understand the importance of unity, as the team encountered some troubles when they started having conflicts with each other. I like Grant the most out of all the characters because he is a good leader, very determined, and inquisitive, which helped to solve many of their problems on the land.

Since I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I have no complaints to make about it. The entire novel is captivating and leaves you with bated breath; it is a total page-turner. Additionally, it was incredibly fun and intriguing, with a bit of romance as the protagonist was caught in a love triangle. This book was exceptionally well edited, and for these reasons, I give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

I believe this book will be enjoyable for those who love adventure and those who love to discover new things. Furthermore, if you enjoy fictional novels, you will enjoy this book.
