Rebirth is a fun and thrilling fantasy book that keeps you guessing and wanting more. From page one, I was hooked. I’ve given this book a four out of five. This book, to start, had very little error when it came to typos and grammar. The book's pacing is excellent because it doesn’t dwell on situations for too long and loses the reader's interest. I also appreciate the world-building that happens throughout the book and how well it is described. Sometimes details can be lost or too much information can be given at once, but this author does a good job of explaining this new world to their reader as the book progresses. All of the history and lore are easy to understand and follow as well.
Although I do love all of the characters, there are a lot we have to remember and I found it hard at times to remember who was who. My one suggestion would be to refresh the reader's memory later on in the book. The characters also sound very similar to each other. I found it difficult to distinguish each character based on how they talk. There were a few characters I’d always mix up because their personalities were so similar. Our main characters are all important to the story and maybe diversifying their personalities a little more would be helpful to readers. But I do appreciate how much heart and support the characters give to each other. It’s heartwarming and great for younger readers.
I appreciated the non-stop action throughout the book and watching the main characters grow and develop. I loved that the book kept an air of mystery to keep the reader interested. Those mysteries made me want to keep reading and understanding. I was so upset when the book ended and I still had questions. For a book that will likely become a whole series, I think the ending to this first one was perfect and I can’t wait for the next one to come out.
