Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, is the first book in a series that explores an action-packed, exciting fantasy world that combines magic and science. The four princes' father, an emperor of a kingdom, gave his sons the Land of the Princes, a group of small islands. The emperor wished for his sons to compete for his empire, and when that occurred, the princes began to fight for the empire, and as a result of the conflict, the islanders suffered greatly from starvation. The narrative opens with the introduction of Galen, a man who came from the Land of the Princes. Galen was traveling to Magnum Caleum in Voulhire as a refugee to take over his uncle's business. He was ready to unravel the mysteries of his new home. Men who are egotistical, malicious, and ready to do everything to get power to wreak havoc without regard for the people or things they would affect live in this new country where the people are industrious.
I adore the story since it is so spectacular. The vocabulary utilization is also excellent. I enjoyed the development of each character throughout the course of the narrative. The attention to detail in each scene is much appreciated; it significantly enhances the feelings and relationships present. Galen's innocent demeanor and the background story that informs his peculiar behavior are qualities I quite love. In order to help the reader identify the book's main protagonist, the plot develops with little exposition, mainly from Galen's first-person perspective and other characters' third-person perspectives. I adore how many antique terms the author employs, especially in the conversation. Even the connections and relationships between the three realms in this fictitious world are properly depicted.
There was nothing that I disliked about the book; it was easy to read and also intriguing. Although it was slow-paced at the beginning, apart from that, I enjoyed reading this book. The entire book, beginning to end, fit into my reading schedule. I loved how frequently and purposefully the author altered the surroundings. One aspect of this book that I can't help but commend is how action-packed it was and how the thrill in the plot never appeared to fade.
There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited. As a result, I am rating this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, 5 out of 5 stars.
I would recommend this book to readers who like fantasy novels.
