Grant Taylor, an adjunct professor, is declared the legal successor to his uncle Randall's estate, who went missing in Zona, a forbidden territory in Siberia. Upon arriving in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Grant discovers evidence suggesting that his uncle's death may have been more than an accident. To uncover the truth, Grant embarks on an expedition to Zona led by Colonel Max Volkov, the sole survivor of his uncle's team. Along the way, they encounter wild animals, harsh weather, and various challenges. Will Grant and his team makes it out alive, and will he finally unravel the truth behind his uncle's demise? Read the book to find out.

There were three things I liked about the book. The first was the vivid description of the book. The author's description of landscapes and other events was real to the extent that it made you live in the story within the plot. Because of the exhilarating action parts in the novel that had me on the edge of my seat, I liked reading it. It was a thrilling and captivating book that I would strongly suggest due to the author's ability to craft intense and heart-pounding moments in the novel.

I don't think the author did justice to the characters at all; some of them were cheap and unrealistic that readers wouldn't be able to identify with them. Another aspect of this book that wowed me was the pacing; it went fast when going slow was needed and went slow when going fast was needed.

I will recommend Zona: The Forbidden Land by Fred G. Baker to adventure and crime book lovers. This book was flawlessly edited, as I found no grammatical errors or typos. My above analysis is an honest view and feeling that I have for the book, and for this reason, I will give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
