Marie Montine's Midnight on Mars is a story taking place in the 2060s featuring Kari Keskiyo, a researcher for ESONA, who luckily escapes from fast-fading Earth onto a Martian colony to escape the disasters of Earth. But things turn out for the worse for her, facing even worse dangerous and life-threatening events in the colony. She runs into her ex-fiancé or lover, Neil Blackwell, an ICSE astronaut whose invention or discovery was implemented behind his knowledge and they end up creating Hollows, the clones of others that ended up turning monsters. Even though he decided to choose his project over their relationship which led to their breaking up, they both put their differences aside and join forces along with other survivors of the deadened colony to take down their ultimate opponent and enemy, Caden Holmgren, the brother of one of the heads of ICSE who doesn't trust the process of the clones anymore and uses them, the Hollows, to his advantage, all for the sake of repopulating the planet Mars with beings like them, the clones. Will they be able to defeat the crooked old man to save their very existence?

In my opinion, this is one of the best science fiction books there is. Most sci-fi writers when writing tend to make the book dull and somewhat boring, but in the case of Marie Montine, she makes the book lively in our minds with the specification of locations and enabling visualization of certain scenes mentioned in the book which makes readers of the book much more interested in it. I also liked the fact that the writer was able to implement certain moral values such as teamwork and cooperation, forgiveness, and even the importance of good family relationships throughout the story.

Even though some of the scenes in the story were too violent, which may upset some of the readers, and there was massive use of scientific jargon and terms which may tend to create some form of confusion among people who aren't really into science, I still gave this book a rating of 4 out of 4 and as well as a 5 out of 5 because of the way the authoress can implement her ideas in a harmonious way to her readers.

I would like to recommend this book to all science fiction lovers, readers fascinated by robotics and outer space-related books. I would also love to recommend it to religious fanatics as they may also find it as interesting as I did.
