Review of The Great awakening
The Great Awakening by Arthur F Seymour is a science fiction novel that tells the narrative of a group of individuals who chose to solve the world's problem when the world was confronted with a terrible and dangerous virus. The comavirus, DP20, caused dread among the cave dwellers, and a group of scientists led by Seymour banded together to discover a cure and a long-term solution. In their search to find the answer, they met several challenges that altered the process significantly. However, the team first gained remarkable insight with the assistance of Sally, the albino bird. The bird brought elderberry to Seymour and Paul in the lab and this served as a breakthrough for the viral treatment since it inhibited the virus's growth. Seymour's three-step method played an important part in determining a long-term solution. Finally, the team got the big break and there was positive news about the Comavirus receding, and the lockdown was lifted.
A few things in this book stood out for me. First, I learned the importance of teamwork, team bonding, and collaborative effort in creating something or completing a job. Because Seymour's team was unified and everyone saw the challenges as something that must be done, they were able to wade through and seek a cure for the comavirus. Second, the book elaborated on the importance of love in the family. The novel covers several family situations, and the love shared among these families served to revitalize the hope of finding a solution. Third, in addition to the life lessons it provides, the book is well written and simple to read from start to finish.
Nonetheless, the book's opening lacks direction, leaving me perplexed as to what the book is about. A book should at least provide some direction, and I was first perplexed by the concepts in the book before finding my way to the finish. Also, the book's characters are a little too much for me, but this is a personality issue that I should not generalize. Putting photographs in the middle of the text is another something I did not like because it confused the text alignment and justification. Finally, some names in the book are almost identical, making it difficult to determine which character is which. Using the same term for two names -Devyn was used for Stacey's daughter as well as the grandpa that died can create confusion for readers.
The reoccurring themes in this book revolve around creativity, teamwork and collaborative efforts. Therefore, I recommend this book to someone who is trying to find a creative solution to a hard problem.
Although no book is error-free as I found a few errors and grammatical mistakes. All these errors were easily noticed in this book. The book lost a star due to the noticeable defects and therefore I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars.
