Review of Zona: The Forbidden Land
In Saint Petersburg, Russia, Dr. Grant Taylor was slated to take care of his uncle's property. He knew immediately upon opening the door that the house had been abandoned for a considerable amount of time because of the dusty and cobweb-covered surroundings. The weird man had entered the home through a looped hole near the window side when he reached his uncle's library after exploring the house from room to room. Is it his late uncle? If so, will Taylor suffer any consequences? Read the book Zona: The Forbidden Land by Fred G. Baker to find answers.
During Taylor’s stay in Saint Petersburg, he met a lady called Irina. This lady is incredibly stunning and caught Taylor’s attention at first sight, and she happened to be the woman who was referred to him to supervise the cleaning of his uncle’s apartment. During their conversation, Irina told him how wonderful Uncle Randall was and how he asked her to go on one of his trips to the Yakutia Republic in Siberia.
What I value most about this book is the map that is connected to the opening page. It helped me, the reader, visualize the setting. I adore the mystery elements in this book, which immediately grabbed my interest. All of this attracted my attention and piqued my curiosity, from Taylor's discoveries and study regarding his deceased uncle to his discovery of a strange man in his flat. I appreciate the author's work. I adore the character Irina in this novel; the author describes her as having faultless beauty, and the support he provided for Taylor was deserving.
What bothered me about this book was the author's attempt to hurry the plot. I believe the story would have been stronger if the plot had been explored earlier rather than hastened toward the conclusion. This book needs to be expanded on in a few specific places, but the author chose to condense it instead, which I didn't think was cool. It would have been better than this, but I commend the author’s effort. I did not find any errors while reading this novel; it's exceptionally well-edited.
I gave this book a rating of four out of five stars because the author didn't fully develop the plot, so I had to take away one star. Other than this, I don't have anything else against this book because it's exciting to read and full of adventures. I recommend reading this book if you enjoy thrillers and science fiction novels because you will adore them.
