We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko is the second book in the We are Voulhire series. It continues the adventures of Galen, Rowan and Demetrius. They arrive at Virko to arrange for more iron to help their business. They meet up with Lord Hrelek, the founder of the city, who is ready to help, but in return he asks for their help. They find out that Lord Hrelek's son, Folcro, has his own plans, which seem to cause threat to the city. So they continue on a mission to help Lord Hrelek in return for iron. Meanwhile, Meldorath has already started on his plans to seize the holy and spiritual city of Yamon Soul. Will Virko face its downfall because of Folcro's plans? Or will Galen and his group succeed in stopping it? Well, you have to read the book to find out.

We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko by Matthew Tysz is a very mystical and magical book. The description of the plot is amazing. The author has described the scenes of the book in such a way that the readers can virtually place themselves in them. The book accomplishes many plot twists and transitions within the story, which makes it more enticing to read.

There were many things I liked about this book, especially the chemistry between Galen, Rowan and Demetrius. In some parts, the humorous arguments between Rowan and Demetrius helped lighten the tone of the story. I actually liked that the author tells the backstory and what's going through the characters' minds and their desires. I also didn't find any errors in the book, so I can say that the book was professionally edited.

Even though I really enjoyed the book, there were still some parts that annoyed and confused me. There was a high usage of profane words throughout the book that really annoyed me, and the usage of complex sentences in some parts confused me a little bit. So I rate this book a 4 out of 5.

I recommend you read the first book of the series, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies, because most of the characters in this book are described in the first one. But even if you don't read the first book, I am sure you can catch up with the things that are happening. So I recommend this book to lovers of magical and fantasy books, but it contains violent scenes and a high use of profanity.
