The Great Awakening is a short story by Arthur Seymour about the sudden spread of an unrecognizable virus that puts citizens in great danger. Ruby and Seymour, a married scientist couple with 3 kids, try to find a vaccine that can save the world. Along with their friends, high-tech machines, robots, and children, they start working on the problem. As the author mentions, the book was written a few months before the COVID-19 pandemic, and it felt like nature was talking to him. The book is a sequel to Earth Won and contains poems. It's interesting, would we be able to defeat the virus sooner if we had the same resources and high-tech machines as the book’s characters did?

The author has included links throughout the book that gives the reader access to websites and allows them to edit the book. This was a very fond gesture in my opinion, as Arthur seems to be open to suggestions and trusts his readers. He also included a summary of Earth Won in the beginning for those who haven’t read it. He tried to make the reading process as enjoyable as possible. Another thing that helps with that is the fast readability of the book. The author kept it short and interesting, which I appreciate. I also found the pictures provided throughout the book helpful and the poems entertaining. The message of The Great Awakening is thoughtful and valuable. Considering the events of the last few years, this book could help a lot to understand and evaluate them. I think these types of books help raise awareness in people and help humanity with later obstacles.

Though I found the images helpful, I think they were a little immature and unfitting. Personally customized images would've been more interesting and fitting. Other than that, I didn't come across any errors and there is nothing I disliked about the book.

The book was professionally edited, and I don’t think after so many positive sides, the author's creativity and the story’s relevance to the modern pandemic situation, the book deserves less than the highest rating, so I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend this book mostly to youngsters who love poetry or want to have a brief image of how the COVID-19 affected people. It could also interest those who merely love short and thoughtful stories. I'm sure there will be at least one thing for each reader that will stick to their minds for a while.
