The Great Awakening by Arthur Seymour tells the story of humans and robots working together to fight the Creature, a being with evil intentions for humanity. Seymour, Ruby, Esther, and Paul and their robot assistants Robyn, Max, Min, and Feeniks face a couple of challenges. The first is a virus that puts everyone who comes in contact with it in a coma. With utmost commitment and the gift Seymour acquired from his dead dog Glen, the humans and robots find a vaccine for the virus. Next, they have to deal with a human army. Choosing to spare the human army from the clutches of the evil Creature, they manage to retrieve the humans. One question lingers in the minds of humans. Where do the robots get their abilities from? How are they able to do all that they can do? The book is a sequel to Earth Won, also by the same author. A helpful summary of Earth Won at the beginning of the book helps the reader to get acquainted with the plot of the story.

The Great Awakening is a display of love, unity, and a spirit of commitment amongst a set of people geared towards a particular goal. It also shows how the solutions to great problems could come from the most insignificant circumstances. I love how the characters in the story showed love and a sense of belonging to everyone including their pets. Although the book contained religious content, I did not think the author was inclined toward any specific religion. The author left readers to interpret the religious content in their own way.

Despite how engaging the story was, the plot of the story seemed very shallow. Between the protagonists and the antagonist, there wasn't any real struggle. The protagonists were able to defeat the antagonist without any major challenges. The last chapter of the story rather seemed to quench the excitement and the climax of the book. Also, there were a few errors which were an indication that the book was not properly edited. Some of the images used in the book were not properly formatted and seemed rather out of context with the story. I suggest that the author should try to better edit subsequent books.

Taking into consideration the negative aspects above, I give the book a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

To all who love science fiction, this book is for you. The book is also very suitable for young readers as it is easy to understand.
