Review of The Seventh Spark
The Seventh Spark by J.B. Lion is a fictional based novel based on the story of supernatural beings. The author starts the book by first giving a brief history of the order of things and the various beings which inhabit this universe. At first, we see that man was created and though a weaker race full of imperfections and no supernatural abilities, has the gift of free will and choice to do anything. Also apart from man, there are other beings like angels, aliens, demons, fallen angels, and finally the knights of the everlasting order. These knights are twelve in number each tasked with protecting one of the planets, defending the stones representing man's virtues, and balancing good and evil.
The forces of evil and darkness led by Drogthal the Dreadnaught, Kreetus prince of the Trankards, and the legion a being from the spirit world, conspire to bring about the fall to the realms of men. They plan to first attack the planet Eon, which is the only planet posing a significant threat to them. Later in the book, we get to see the guardians of the realms, also called the Knights of the Trinity. They plan a gathering led by the wisest called Armin, and they arrive one after another where we see each has unique special abilities.
There are a few positive aspects I came across during my course of reading this book, one of them was the pictures the author included which were a pure work of art. The pictures were aesthetically appealing which made the book very interesting to read as they really caught my attention and dramatically increased my concentration. This also goes to show the author really put in lots of effort in writing the book. I also enjoyed the way the author artistically wrote the titles of the different chapters, which was quite unique in its own right. Another aspect I liked was the different writing styles employed by the author specifically, the inclusion of comic-style visuals in the book which according to me were a pure work of genius and in the end made the book very easy to understand. Finally, I liked the way the author included a survey to help readers to contribute producing the book. I found the book exceptionally well-edited.
However, I also came across some negative aspects while I was reading the book. First I did not like the way the author used complex vocabulary throughout the novel, as this made it difficult to understand the novel creating unnecessary distractions. This in the long run also ended up wasting time as I had to look up the complex terms. Finally, I found the author used difficult language and accent in the conversations involving the Knights of Trinity, which was very frustrating and confusing.
In conclusion, I rate the book 3 out of 5 stars. I have deducted two stars due to the negative aspects stated above, one the way the author used complex vocabulary throughout the book and the difficult accent used by some of the characters in the book. This was very frustrating as it made it hard to understand the book. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action and thriller-based novels.
