The Great Awakening, by Arthur Seymour, is an appealing sci-fi book. All over the world, a highly contagious disease was making millions of people go into comas. The disease made someone fall into a coma few hours after being infected with the virus. Hence, total isolation was required to contain the epidemic. Over the years, since Seymour and his team helped the Earth to win, the "Creature" had influenced powerful leaders all over the world and made them to believe in the elimination of those that would not obey him. He wanted the world to be for him, his demons, and his master, Satan. Thus, Seymour, his scientific team, and REED (a global organization) sought to find a cure for the global disease, while defeating the "Creature."

The book is intriguing, showing how Seymour and his team work tirelessly to save the world again. It's a sequel to Earth Won, and I appreciate the author for giving a summary of Earth Won before starting the sequel. That'll make readers understand the story better. Besides, I love the poems he included. They're interesting and related to the story.

Furthermore, I commend the author for creating a great reading experience for the readers of his book. There are colored words that are linked to certain websites for additional information. Included also are beautiful pictures that show certain things in the story, including the characters.
In addition, though the book consisted of references to a pandemic, the author wrote his story before the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, "it was almost as if the Earth was speaking to me."

Concerning the characters, they're interesting and amusing most times. Though they are made up of humans, robots, and animals, the author gives enough details about them that make them relatable.

There's nothing I don't like about The Great Awakening. It's entertaining and enlightening, unveiling how a great global crisis is being resolved by scientists, including children, birds, and a grandma. However, readers who are sensitive about the COVID-19 pandemic may want to skip it. Anyway, I enjoyed reading it. It contains fascinating things. For example, it includes talking moths, shows how Seymour (the protagonist) reads and changes software with his mind, and reveals how a dog reincarnated in the body of a moth. In addition, Seymour and his wife, Ruby, give a revelation about moths that intrigued me.

Altogether, I rate The Great Awakening 5 out of 5 stars. I couldn't rate it lower because it was enlightening and entertaining. The author presented a coherent story. Moreover, it was professionally edited; I saw just one typo. It'll be a worthwhile read for preteen and teenage fans of sci-fi and fantasy books.
