We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, is a fascinating tale with an outstanding plot and setting that centers on Galen, a person full of activity who recently fled a war-torn land for one where he must inherit a lot from his uncle. The use of several writing techniques makes this book engrossing. Four of an emperor's sons share the same claim to the throne. “The Emperor of Lullabies” is what many calls him. The emperor arrived, believing his sons were planning to assassinate him to take the kingdom. He went ahead and expelled them from the palace and provided them with an army-controlled island. The island soon descended into war. The situation got worse. Galen made plans to travel to Voulhire but was surprised to learn how much wealth he would actually acquire. Beautiful and bizarre things coexist in the kingdom of Voulhire.

I appreciated how much information the author provided about each character and incident in the novel. I could picture what he was talking about since he took his time and explained everything thoroughly. The opening is exciting, fast-paced, and packed with action. I was curious to learn more as soon as I finished reading it. Every ancillary narrative is kept intriguing by the author, and each chapter is a superb literary work in and of itself. You get the impression that the book is being read to you because of the flawless writing. True storytellers like the narrator are rare. I cherished the impartial approach with which he presented the story as seen from the viewpoints of several individuals. The author included a map at the beginning of the book, and that helped me navigate the towns in Voulhire.

There was nothing that I disliked about the book; it was well-written and interesting. For some characters whose stories he told, he gave us backstories, while for others, he left us in the dark about their pasts. I think the author was striving for a tense impact, and this enhanced it, which is what I have grown to appreciate most about the novel. The author's and Galen's views alternated frequently, but I enjoyed how the transitions between them were seamless and did not cause any confusion.

I am rating this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, 5 out of 5 stars because it was well-structured and compelling to read. There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy, thrillers, and magic books.
