Frustrating Fascination, is a book written by Debra McKenzie. This book is a short book focusing on Sean. Sean always felt this rage and disgust toward gay people as a result of his dad’s teachings, the army, and the fact that his wife, Marina had left him for a woman. He had been so angry, frustrated, and filled with contempt for the members of the LGBTQ community. He was a bit reluctant to accept the idea of the same sex being attracted to each other. One day, he suddenly found himself in an antique store as he was running away from a gay guy. He decided to use that opportunity to shop for his mother’s birthday present. He was intrigued by a mirror he had seen and the storekeeper advised him to take it. Sean did and started to see things differently after he had bought the mystery mirror.

I liked that though this book was short, it passed the message it was to pass properly. I loved the fact that Sean saw things differently at the end of the book and became more understanding. It made him a less angry version of himself. I also liked the fact that the book was easy to understand and the writer used easy-to-understand words. Debra also did a good job editing this book as I found less than ten errors in the book.

I did not find much to hate about this book. One of the few things I did not like was the cliffhanger at the end. The author did not explain to us how and why Alex was a different person. It was confusing to see her as a guy at the end. I am not a fan of cuss words so I found the writer’s use of cuss words disturbing. It would have been best if the cuss words had been reduced.

I rate this book four out of five stars. I gave it a rating of four because I genuinely loved and enjoyed this book. I loved how it made me see life differently. I also liked how intrigued this book made me feel. I deducted one star because of the cliffhanger and the cuss words as well as the fact that the book had an error. This book is an amazing read in general.

I recommend this book to all lovers of fiction as well as all those who love LGBTQ-related books. The book is also recommended to those who are uptight in thinking. I believe they would also see life differently.
