Grant Taylor was just a professor in the United States when he heard about the sudden news of his uncle's disappearance. A year later, the authorities declared his uncle dead, and after finding out that he was inheriting all of his uncle's wealth, he sets off to Russia. But he makes a mouthwatering discovery that will take him to Zona to find answers about his uncle's whereabouts. What will he find out as he heads to Zona?

The expedition to Zona becomes the second part of the book. This journey kicks off after Grant meets Irina, Boris Ustinov's daughter. The second mission also kicked off in the second part of the book, and the question that always lingers is: is Randall still alive? Or is he dead? Get a copy of this book to find out how the mission in Zona unfolded.

I loved the way the author divided this book; the first section talked about the beginning of the book and how Grant got himself into Russian, while the second section explained the expedition to Zona. This division of the story made the book more understandable and comprehensive. Another thing I loved about the book was the romantic aspect of it; the bond Irina and Grant shared was very special. There was also a relatively small number of characters in this book; the author avoided introducing too many characters in an adventure book like this. As a result, it was easier to keep track of each character's identity and role.

Wherever there is no absolute love for a book, then there must be some dislike. My dislike was not that paramount, but I would still like to name a very few. The first is that the first section of this book was really slow and delayed, and by the time the expedition began, the author was accelerating. Another aspect of the book I didn't like was the ending, although I don't want to force myself into admitting to spoilers. The writing skills of the author and his narrative waded in the final run. The outcome wasn't a problem, but the way he described it was.

The plot of this book was excellent, and the narrative was above average. I will rate Zona: The Forbidden Land 4 out of 5 stars. I carefully looked into this book, so I believe this is the deserved rating for it. This book was exceptionally well edited.

Fred G. Baker's was intriguing and kept me on edge for the greater part of the book. My suggestion for this book will go to adventure lovers; it is the perfect read for them.
