Kim dropped by a train to live in District 33. She finds herself in a situation where the company takes away everything. Shan is nowhere to be found, with no sign of a futuristic reunion. Starting a new beginning in District 33 that is different from the life she always knew with the AI, yet when presented with a second chance to return to the company, she rejects it as that would cost her freedom, her friend Shan, and her friend Kimberly AI whom she spends training to work for the company interests. Her rebellions risked her safety. Trying both to survive and figure a way to retrieve Kimberly and search for Shan. During her stay in outer districts, she uncovers a hidden secret from the past long lost in the shadows. Would she survive? Or would she return crawling to the company to restore her earlier life? Would she succeed in reaching her motive?

I admire the author Criage W.Stanfill style of constructing a story. The story develops with us experiencing everything with the protagonist from the moment she starts living in District 33 to the point where she starts his journey in search of answers from the past that had caused his modern world to function under the mercy of the AI. I appreciate that the author wrote unpredictable plots that kept the suspense. Some forgotten buildings, beliefs, and traditions which were long lost survived in the present timeline of the book. We get an insight into the protagonist's perspective on it. That makes her more relatable and adds to her character. The Prophecy of the Heron allows readers to experience a different society controlled by humans which co-exists with the one described in Term of Services where AIs are the ones in charge.

Despite the story being catchy, the lack of awareness that The Prophecy of the Heron is a second book to Term of Services may have made the story hard to understand at the beginning. I recommend reading Term of Services before heading to The Prophecy of the Heron. One noticeable part of the book world is that all the characters are gender-neutral, so they are always referred to by the pronoun she even for male characters. Leading to problems in imagining the characters as some lacked appearance description. Many major plots took place and weren't solved, which left me with unanswered questions. Knowing that this book is the end of the series in which we could take an adventure with Kim made me disappointed. However, the author wants to create a spinoff series that digs deeper into some backstories of other characters. It is not yet confirmed, but I look forward to it.

I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. Even though the book is a good read, it contains descriptions unsuitable for young readers. I dislike the book ending as it ended on a cliffhanger. I find it quite irritating to wait to know what happened to some characters in the book. I found no typos, spelling, or grammar errors. The book is exceptionally well-edited.

I recommend this to dystopian, sci-fi, action, mystery, and action lovers.
