Review of Zona: The Forbidden Land
You will be thrown into every suspense, and you will be eager to keep reading Zona: The Forbidden Land by Fred G. Baker to learn more about this intriguing experience. As the heir to his uncle Randall's estate, Grant Taylor, a college professor from Elmhurst in Chicago, journeys to Saint Petersburg, Russia. Uncle Randall has been reported missing and dead from his most recent journey into a dangerous and forbidden region close to Siberia. Grant gets to Russia, and one fateful day when he was going through his uncle's former notes, they started giving a clue to Grant that there was more to his uncle's death and disappearance. The second part of the book talked about the expedition to Zona The team that set off for the expedition was made up of a botanist, Irina, Grant, scientists, and security officers, and was headed by Colonel Volkov. Will Grant find answers about his disappeared uncle, or will he have to accept the fate of his death in good faith?
I loved the sweet actions this novel brought forward, such as mystery, suspense, danger, and romance. This book got me; I shared a lot of Grant's pain, loss, anger, joy, and sorrow. I think the character was carefully and emotionally created, and the author did a great job. I also loved how the author divided this book into three sections. The idea was to make it easier for people to read. The author's plot and description are very captivating; he was able to make Zona not just a fictional place but a real one. My heart was racing every time I turned over a new page because I had no clue what would happen next. a very suspenseful book.
This book was close to perfect, and I didn't notice anything that I didn't like about it, but I must say that the author needs to polish more on how he sets up his story. Don't get me wrong, the plot is amazing, but the narrative was a bit ambiguous at times, which resulted in the author's repetition.
I will rate Zona: The Forbidden Land 4 out of 5 stars, this book was an amazing adventure and I loved it. Maybe it's justifiable to deduct a star because of my feelings towards the narration of this book, but apart from that, this book is incredible. This book was exceptionally well edited.
I may want to split my recommendation into two audiences: first, I do recommend this book to everyone who loves reading adventure books with lots of mystery, and second, I do recommend this book to readers who love science fiction.
