Terms of Service, a science fiction book written by Craig. W. Stanfield focuses on an era where the AIs rule the world. In this new world there is nothing like individualism because the AIs monitor everything you do and because they believe that one is all and all is one. The story follows Kim who five years ago got employed at the Artificial Intelligence Company. She was excited at first because she thought working with the high ranking Als would be a nice experience for her. Unfortunately, it wasn’t how she imagined it to be, she ended up working with low ranking AIs until one unfortunate incidence with her beastie Shan. Things started unfolding for Kim as she realized that all her life, she was programmed to behave in a certain way by the AIs and her life was not hers. What would she do with this new found knowledge? Read the book to find out.

The author took his time to explain the roles of each character thus granting the reader a fair idea before zooming into real action. The book also illustrates how emotions are part of human existence. This we can see in the life of Kim who felt empty within after the separation from her birth mother and because her mentor told her not to show her emotions. She thought she could fill the emptiness she feels inside yet she gets more miserable anytime she tries. The book also shows how our world would become should we decide that everyone should behave in a certain way and thus punish anyone who goes contrary to the set rules. What a boring world it would be, where one is not allowed to be themselves, be unique, break the rules and to find and unleash one’s potential. To add to that, the author’s description of the characters gives the reader the opportunity to make use of his/her imagination thereby creating an unforgettable experience. The book contains humor and can keep the reader on his/her toes until he/she is done reading.

There is nothing not to like about this book. The reader just needs patience to be able to grasp the first few chapters and they are good to go.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because the book was professionally edited and there were no grammatical errors.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science fictions books and to all those who like reading about AIs. I also recommend to anyone who wants to know what would happen to this world should the Als take over and rule the world.
