Kim has always lived a mundane, dull life. She wakes up each day and dresses in a pale color and goes off to work. This is the age of technology, and Kim's world is governed by a set of rules that must be followed strictly. Artificial intelligence monitors her every move, private conversations, and even what she eats to make sure their terms are being adhered to. Kim has a friend named Shan who constantly breaks the rules. Shan was sent away after high school because of rules she broke. After a few years, Kim and Shan reunite and trouble begins to brew. Shan invited Kim on a bike ride and convinced her to go beyond the point they were allowed. They were curious to see what lay on the other side of the life they knew. What they found was both terrifying and eye-opening.

Terms of Service by Craig W. Stanfill is a story set in the dystopian era. The story follows the main character Kim, who has started questioning the way she lived. After trespassing outside their designated park, Kim began seeing things that have previously been hidden from her. I like the world-building of this book. The author created a world that is both terrifying and exciting. I can just imagine how Kim felt having her every move watched and governed. I got chills reading this book. The suspense in this book is second to none. I was sitting at the edge of my seat wondering what would happen to Kim and her friend when they were caught.

There wasn't much to dislike about this book, but part three of the book took more concentration to read and understand. I had to reread the parts where Kim was training her AI. This slowed down my reading a bit. I think that part could be explained a bit better.

The plot of Terms of Service was supported by a cast of well-developed characters and was exceptionally well-edited. I will give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The plot was engrossing, and the book was hard to put down. I finished reading in just two sittings. The cover is also amazing.

For persons who enjoy reading about artificial intelligence and what our world would look like if it was run by them, this is a book you must read. The author created an intriguing world in this book. I would also recommend it to lovers of suspense and mystery.
