Imagination, science and spirituality have played integral roles in human civilization since the beginning. Many of us find ourselves inclined towards one of them than the others. For many, this has led to the mentality that one is better or more important than the other two.

The story centers on Garen Bray, a refugee who hails from the "lands of the princes". A place filled with destruction, grinding poverty, starvation or even death by the sword. He is given an opportunity to escape these lands with the help of his uncle and his executor for a better place "Voulhire". Garen falls in love with this place for its a stark contrast to his previous home. It's a place that gives him hope for a better future though Voulhire has power-hungry people whose intentions are filled with pure malice and destruction. But Garen is learning more about himself and his new home plus discovering his potential. Find out what happens to the complicated nation that Garen is falling in love with.

We are Voulhire is the first book in the ongoing series by Matthew Tysz. It is a story written with meticulous care and thought. The author had the book in his mind for a decade so he wrote it with experience and expertise. Since the author disclosed that this is an introductory to a vast story, it is indeed poignantly and humbly built up. The plots are woven artfully just like a serie would be. The other characters were properly fit into the story like the humble and kind king Wilhelm, the evil Lord Meldorath, the wilful Marshus and the others. My best quote is "see the good in everything and the best of it will find you." Well, i learn that even with a troubled past, you can choose to move on with gratitude and hope just like Garen did. Read more so that you can find out for yourself. Enjoy.

One thing I didn't like is that Garen Bray as the main protagonist is not cultivated enough. He is talked about less than the other characters but that doesn't slight my interest in the book at all.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because of the painstaking effort, enthusiasm and love invested in the story. Every word, sentence and character fit properly. The author didn't ramble on with the unnecessary rather he was on point. I didn't find any vulgarity or profanity while reading. The book was professionally edited because l didn't find any grammatical error.

If you're a fantasy, adventure and fictional lover, then this book is particularly written for you. You've got to try it because you will fall in love with this world of Voulhire.
