We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a book that talks about a place called Voulhire. After Galen Bray received an inheritance from the uncle, a house, gold, and a small business. He left the Land of the Princes, for a place called Voulhire, from where the book got its name. Lord Meldorath, the wicked and powerful ruler wrecked havoc on the people, till he died, and was replaced by Lord Wilhelm. There were battles in Voulhire from King Idus. Lord Meldorath was a notorious leader, for the people of Hillport. Virko was a popular destination for Galen.

The positive aspect of the book is the map at the beginning of the book, which properly describes the place called Voulhire and other surrounding places. Adding a map at the beginning helps one to know the places, with their geographical attributes, as described in the book. Another positive aspect of the book is its narrative nature, the way it tells the story of many lords combating each other for power. It is a book of narration, that tells a story in a simple way. The stories of this book are more of a fantasy. It is a fantasy read with fantastic military stories told in the most narrative way.

The negative aspect of this book is that it is full of many characters, with no character list at all. This makes the book somehow too complex for the reader. The absence of a character list makes it difficult for someone to know who is being referred to, or pick it up from the previous story. Since the author introduced many characters in this book, a list added at the beginning like the map would help readers to understand. Readers often avoid complex books, since the aim is to communicate, and not hinder reading comprehension.

Since this book does not seem to be professionally edited, I rate it 3 out of 4 stars. However, in as much as there were negative aspects of the book, I encourage the author to keep on writing such fantasy books.

This book is a recommendation for those who love to read action books. If you like to read military books, books full of the quest for power, then you will find this book a nice read. If you like to read series books, books that do not finish the story, but continue with another book, this book is a recommendation.
