Review of Of Zots and Xoodles
Of Zots and Xoodles: Theodil Creates a Universe, written by Zarqnon the Embarrassed, is a science fiction book about Theodil's theory of creating a universe. Theodil stands before a committee demonstrating his theory of the creation of a universe. Dots appear as he rolls dice, which the people call Zots. After some distortions, the dots-like-Zots turn into noodles like Xoodles. The committee criticizes every step that Theodil takes to create his universe. Some people in the crowd are amused by what Theodil has created. Using the same procedure, Theodil creates other parameters such as time, gravity, and light. Do you want to know how Theodil created his universe? Read this book and find out.
What I liked most in this book was the use of diagrams to explain complex scientific concepts. Since the book deals with quantum physics concepts, the author decided to use diagrams to explain the concepts. The concepts are complex, and the use of diagrams made the reader understand them, hence, enjoying the book. I also liked the descriptions of the steps involving the creation of the universe. The author explained how Theodil created his universe stepwise by explaining how Zots became Xoodles. The author describes how various elements were formed in detail for the reader to understand. It encourages the reader to read it many times since the story provides scientific questions and answers involving quantum physics.
I did not find anything to dislike in the book since it was great. The book was short but encouraged the readers to read it. The writing was articulate and thoughtful since it provided piles of information intended to describe the concept of universe creation. The flow was great, and despite the book being short, it was detailed; hence, nothing to dislike.
I rate Of Zots and Xoodles: Theodil Creates a Universe by Zarqnon the Embarrassed four out of four stars. The book was explicitly edited; hence, I found no errors. The book had many positive aspects, which involved answering scientific questions using quantum physics concepts and diagrams to make the concepts easier to understand. It did not have any negative aspects, so with all these great things about the book deducting a star would be unfair; hence, the rating.
I recommend this book to lovers of science fiction novels with skeptical minds. It would be helpful to them since it involves the creation of the universe under quantum physics. People with skeptical minds would love the book since they will question the steps Theodil uses to create his universe.
