Either you die by the sword or by famine in the Lands of the Princes. If you are fortunate, you could become a business owner or trader. Before the search for him by the executor of his great uncle, Galen Bray has not been any of these. Voulhire, a place of proverbial milk and honey, has an enterprise waiting for him there. He sets out for it immediately.

Voulhire is currently experiencing its golden era, and everyone is speculating about how great Voulhire will become in the future. Nevertheless, despite all the excitement and anticipation, some people feel the urge to cause mayhem. The king's responsibility is to unite his people and defeat his adversaries, but how can he curtail every event meant to tear apart the kingdom he has worked so hard to build? In a story full of high-ranking characters, where does Galen fit? Will Voulhire's golden age be fully realized? Grab your copy of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz to find out.

I had a great time reading this fantasy novel. It is an introduction to the nine-volume We Are Voulhire series. First of all, I like Matthew’s writing. He has used simple, easy-to-understand English, yet it is so captivating. He uses hooks effectively and knows how to offer the reader just enough information to keep them turning the pages. I particularly like how the book uses different characters' points of view to narrate the story. Each character gets one or more separate chapters to do so. Some are succinct, while others are a little longer and provide additional depth.

Also compelling are the detailed descriptions of the occasions, locations, and people. I had no trouble visualizing the landscape as the various characters performed their activities. I found it easier to keep track of the characters and certain events thanks to the map of Voulhire provided at the start of the novel. The vocabulary glossary at the book's conclusion is also something I love. Without it, I might have had trouble understanding some of the story's concepts.

Another aspect of the book I like is the realism it possesses. Many aspects of Voulhire, including its social dynamics, monologues, dialogue, and nature, are heavily inspired by the real world. For instance, when Beth, a Caromentis native, describes the cosmos from her perspective. Character development is well-done, even though the objective of this novel is to introduce us to Voulhire and its characters. I am interested in seeing how their character arcs progress throughout the series.

The editorial team did a splendid job because I only found one error. The novel contains profanity and some gruesome descriptions that might not sit well with some readers. There was nothing in particular that I found repulsive about the book. I rate We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies 4 out of 4 stars for the reasons I have mentioned above. I suggest it to anyone who appreciates reading fantasy books with several points of view, magic, and vivid descriptions, particularly of action scenes. I sincerely hope you enjoy it at least as much as I did.
