Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a Sci-Fi / Fantasy novel based on the physical universe (Cosmos) and the magic universe (Caromentis). It is a story of friendship, betrayal, magic, pain, secret, and war.
This book talks about the kingdom of Voulhire. Voulhire has many towns which are Soulhire the capital, Virko, Yamon Soul, Magnum Caelum, Hillport, and so on which is been ruled by King Wilhelm. Lord Meldorath is the Lord of Hillport and a friend of King Wilhelm. Lord Meldorath practices evil magic which is not acceptable in Voulhire. King Wilhelm ordered his arrest which led to the feeling of betrayal. Rumors had it that Lord Meldorath is dead. Is he dead? What happens if Lord Meldorath is still alive? Can the Kind do all it takes to protect Voulhire?
My favorite character is Galen who is from the Lands of the Princes. He escaped from the Lands of the Princes and settled down in Magnum Caelum where his late uncle lived. He had to take on his late uncle's work as a blacksmith to continue his legacy. He met Rowan whom he had to travel with to different towns to accomplish what they had in mind. What was your journey like? What did they discover on the course of this journey?
This is an interesting novel. It is well-written and neatly arranged. It is also easy to understand as each section has the name of the character to be emphasized written on it. This made it easy for me to understand what that particular section is talking about. The author tries his possible best to explain the characters and towns in the book. It helped develop the characters properly for the reader. Another positive aspect of this book is the fact that the book has a reference guide at the end that helped me understand more about the novel. The reference guide contains some unfamiliar words used in the novel and their explanation, this made me flow well while reading the book. This book also has a website for extended reading about Voulhire. The book is engaging and will captivate a reader's attention. It makes it possible for the reader to insert their pictures in their minds. The character development is excellent. I also like the title of this book, it sounds confident and daring.
While reading this book, I did not come across anything which I would consider a negative aspect. The book was professionally edited. I feel the author did an excellent job with this book so I will rate this book four out of four stars. This book is really enjoyable and easy to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys suspense, magic, and Ski-Fi novel.
