"Like a Lily among thorns" explains the story of a cheerful lady,Gabriel Bernstein at her twenty's who lived a love-starved childhood. An orphan as she is, struggles to become happy and carefree just to have in possession an inheritance (B$B) left behind by her late father who for some reasons caused the dead of her mother indirectly. Beau, her half-brother denied the inheritance. The inheritance turned out to be a great gift bringing her to family-love and marriage to Beau who turned out not to be a half-brother and together with godesses, solved the climatic crisis in Vermont.

In my opinion, the climatic outlook is this novel's best feature. Although it is composed of fictional characters like the godesses, the author's intensions are made clear; "saving planets from accelerated climate crisis". I mean we all want to live in a better Earth.

Normally, some of the best passages are related to sorrow, romance, and extraordinary scenes more like witchcraft and sorcery which boosted my anxiety for continuation. Also, characters were greatly developped making it almost impossible to forget who is who. Karen S. Bell cleverly presents themes like love and rejection, hope and delay which made the story interesting and worth continuing. I really enjoyed the play.

However, looking at the other side of the coin,this play was written in the past tense making it difficult to visualize. It might displease some readers with controversial remarks like; long conversations that lead to nowhere especially in chapter one between the countess and Gabriel, and some Vocabulary words that seem difficult to understand.

Finally, I rate this play a 3 out of four. I would recommend it for teenagers.
