Things aren't always as they seem. This quote is employed loosely to explain the existence of a mystery, scheme, or cover-up, and sometimes a twisted adventure. Zona: The Forbidden Land by Fred G. Baker is a blend of all these fun attributes as the book describes the mystery of a traveler presumed dead, but his story holds an adventure and a lot of action as his nephew tries to uncover the mystery behind his death.

Dr. Grant Taylor is an adjunct professor who inherits his uncle's house in Saint Petersburg, Russia. After his uncle Randall is presumed dead by the government after being missing for over a year, Grant Taylor travels to Russia to see his inheritance and do some paperwork. He encounters different occurrences and events that make him suspicious, starting with the break into his new home library and an encounter with a stranger that helped confirm his suspicions. Dr. Grant begins to investigate his uncle's death. He reads his journals and asks people who knew him better than he did. So many theories came up during his investigation of his uncle's disappearance, but they all led to zona. Where is Zona? Is Uncle Randall dead, or is it a cover-up?

I liked the creativity of the maps put in the book that displayed the travel routes of Zona, different places in Zona, and the camp. It had an impact as it helped during the journey to find Zona. There was a lot of tension and plot twists in the book's story, and it had a brilliant writing style. The author presented different perspectives, and I loved watching every scene connect. I liked the author's work with the character's development and detailed descriptions. I appreciate the author's efforts in making it harder to predict the book.

There is nothing to dislike about this book. It had a unique plot, was entertaining, hard to predict, and had no errors. The book, however, was unnumbered, and having numbers helps keep track of the events in the book. However, this did not affect my reading experience in any possible way.

I proudly rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. The book had no errors and was exceptionally well-edited. The book was captivating and entertaining. The book had no numbers on the pages, but this did not affect the book's experience or quality. The mentioned attributes make the book merit the rating.

I recommend this book to readers interested in mysteries, adventures, and alluring sequels. I recommend it to readers interested in books with multiple genres.

I like this book. Its descriptiveness, the action, and the suspense; all make the book's storyline exciting. Your summary did justice to the overview of the book

This book is fantastic, save for the lascivious relations that escalated in Zona. The fight scenes were quite descriptive. The whole book is like a Hollywood thriller.

I don't just like the book. Not that the book is not interesting but the treatment given to the great scientist is my anger. Good review.
